What does this car fuel cost calculator do?
It estimates yearly and monthly running cost from consumption, annual distance and the fuel or electricity price. It works for petrol, diesel and electric cars, in km or miles, litres or gallons, and euro, dollar or pound.
How is yearly fuel cost calculated?
For litres per 100 km: (consumption ÷ 100) × annual km × price per litre. For MPG: (annual miles ÷ mpg) × price per gallon — a US gallon for US MPG, an Imperial gallon for UK MPG. For electricity: (kWh/100 km ÷ 100) × annual km × price per kWh, or the same with kWh/100 miles and annual miles. Monthly cost is yearly divided by 12.
